Pakistan penalised for slow over-rate in tri-series final

The hosts were ruled to be one over short in the summit clash against Sri Lanka after time allowances were taken into consideration
Pakistan have been fined five per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the final of the ODI tri-series, played against Sri Lanka, in Lahore, on Saturday (October 31).
The hosts were found to be one over short after time allowances were taken into consideration. As per the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time. Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistan captain, pled guilty to the slow over-rate offence and accepted the proposed sanction, ruling out the need for a formal hearing.
Pakistan chased down 326 - the joint highest in an ODI tournament final - to win the match, and with it, the tri-series.
