Having made his first-class debut for Karnataka in the Irani Trophy where he scored a fifty in his maiden outing. 9 months later, Abhishek Reddy earned his list A cap but hasn't quite lived upto the hype and expectations since then. The elegant batsman banished from the scene for two years after a sparkling first year for Karnataka only to reappear in 2017 where he had a forgettable comeback, bagging a 4-ball duck against Assam. But Reddy kept banging the door of the selectors with some staggering knocks in the Karnataka Premier League and first-division cricket. With the likes of KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey, Krishnappa Gowtham and Shreyas Gopal elevating to the next level, Reddy once again got picked in the Karnataka team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20.
