লিওন জনসন

He burst onto the scene as a teen sensation making his first-class debut at a callow age of 16 in 2004. It didn't turn out to be a dream beginning as he managed four runs in his first three first-class outings. He then had to wait for four more years to play for Guyana again. Upon his return, in the third first-class game he nurtured a 73 run knock against Jamaica to reinforce the maturity that he had undergone all this while.

In 2006, he was also asked to lead West Indies Under-19 team which included the likes of Andre Fletcher, Kieron Pollard, Kemar Roach and Sunil Narine. The campaign ended as an unsuccessful one both personally and team wise as he could only manage one knock of reckoning against South Under-19 getting 83 and the Windies also bowed out in the quarters losing to India.

Year 2008 saw him making his One day debut against Bermuda alongside Brendan Nash and Kemar Roach. However, after getting three One-dayers, he was again sidelined for 7 years. In 2015, he was back in the playing 11. As a Test player he made his debut against Bangladesh in 2014 but again inconsistency has ensured he has so far only played 6 Tests in 2 years since his Test debut. A fearless middle-ordrr batsman, Leon would want to map a more successful career in times to come.
