Angkrish Raghuvanshi
Overview
Angkrish Raghuvanshi
A stylish right-handed batter, Angkrish Raghuvanshi stepped into the limelight with his performances in the 2022 U19 World Cup where he finished as India's highest run-scorer in their title-winning campaign.
Originally from Delhi, Raghuvanshi moved to Mumbai at the age of 11 and started training under Abhishek Nayar, who played a big role in his development. He attended the same school as Rohit Sharma and impressed the coach enough that the coach saw similarities between the two.
After the breakthrough U19 World Cup campaign, Raghuvanshi made his debut for Mumbai in the 2023-24 season. He also secured an IPL contract that year, getting picked up by KKR where Nayar was part of the coaching setup. It took little time for him to show he belonged in the big league. Raghuvanshi became the youngest player to score a fifty in his maiden IPL innings when he struck a quickfire 54 off just 27 balls against the Delhi Capitals.
In IPL 2025, Raghuvanshi continued to grow in confidence and maturity. While he wasn’t always a guaranteed starter in a star-studded Kolkata lineup, he made the most of his opportunities, contributing crucial runs in the middle order. His ability to play fearless cricket under pressure and adapt to different match situations stood out, as he chipped in with impactful cameos and a couple of composed innings that helped stabilize the side when needed. More importantly, he showed improved shot selection and temperament, hinting at a player evolving beyond just a flashy youngster into a reliable batting option.
For the upcoming IPL 2026 season, expectations around Raghuvanshi are significantly higher. With a season of experience behind him, he is likely to be seen as a more regular member of the playing XI. KKR will look at him not just as a promising youngster, but as a dependable middle-order batter who can anchor innings as well as accelerate when required. If his upward trajectory continues, IPL 2026 could well be the season where Angkrish Raghuvanshi cements his place as one of the most exciting young Indian talents in the league.
