Born in Uttaranchal, Pawan Suyal made his first-class debut with Delhi during the 2009-10 Ranji Trophy season. He played a few matches that season and did fairly well.

However, he was not a regular in the side. He has not managed to play all the matches in a season so far, but in the opportunities he has got he has been amongst the wickets apart from the 2013-14 season.

He was bought by the Mumbai Indians and he got to play a couple of games in IPL-7.
