A refreshing trend among the new crop of India's pacers is their determination to bowl consistently at high speeds and Monu Kumar from Jharkhand is another addition to this list. A highly impressive Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament in January 2018 was vital to him being picked up by the Chennai Super Kings at the auctions. As exciting as his raw pace is, what is impressive is the control he has shown when operating with such pace. The IPL will be the ideal opportunity for him to showcase his skills although it remains to be seen as to how frequently he gets a chance in the playing XI. A former India U19 player, Monu was a part of the 2014 World Cup squad.
