88.5
OUT! Zak Gibson to Devdutt Padikkal, out Caught by Mitchell Hay!! Wait a second! Oh no, Devdutt Padikkal has been given caught behind down the leg side, but he looks extremely surprised and gestures to the umpire about how far the ball was from his bat. It looked like it came off the pad, but he will have to walk back just one short of a well-deserved double century. Harmless length delivery down the leg side, and the left-hander tries to clip it but misses as the ball brushes his pads and nestles into the keeper's gloves. Even the appeal wasn't particularly convincing, but the umpire raises his finger, leaving Padikkal in disbelief. But NZ A will take it! Devdutt Padikkal c Mitchell Hay b Zak Gibson 199(248) [4s-24 6s-3]

Time for lunch. India A lead by 22. The session has belonged to the visitors thanks to Devdutt Padikkal and Sai. Sai fell in the 90s but not before adding more than 200 runs for the third wicket. The NZ A bowlers found that Keene had a niggle and won't bowl. The others tried several lines and lengths and they were all over the wicket. India A peeled off some easy runs. The spinners bowled a few overs as well but without any success. Dev during the session brought up his 100 and that too with a massive sixer. India A need to keep batting as we still have 5 sessions left. The second session in all likelihood will see the second new ball and India A need to have enough wickets in hand to face that. If India pass that test, we feel they will have a great chance of saving this game. NZ A will come back with renewed bouncer plans post lunch. We will be back in 25 minutes time!

Kristian Clarke to Sai Sudharsan, no run, short one, angled in, left alone. The slips have vanished. The short ball ploy will be used till we go into lunch and it might continue

56.3

Drinks. Sai and DDP have bossed the first hour. The ball hasn't done anything and Indian batters have looked so good. They have peeled off 78 runs in the first hour. The deficit now stands at only 20 runs. On top of this, NZ A won't have the services of Keene owing to a niggle. The ball still hasn't been found. That one seems to be lost. They are still looking for it and the wait continues.
49.6
Jayden Lennox to Devdutt Padikkal, , That goes into the trees. Devdutt Padikkal danced down, got to the pitch of the ball and launched it over the ropes.
