Gary Wilson

A right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper, Gary Craig Wilson, was a part of the Under-19 Ireland squad in 2004 and 2006. He also plays for Surrey County Cricket Club in England's domestic competitions since 2008.

In 2005, Wilson featured in eight Second XI matches and looked good with the bat. He was even more impressive behind the stumps, claiming 32 dismissals which included 26 catches and six stumpings. He made his international debut against India in 2007 and has played some good knocks since then.

In a match against Leicestershire in August 2010, Wilson scored his maiden First-Class century, beating his previous best score of 62. His 125 runs came off 235 balls while batting at No.6. He was part of the squad for the 2011 World Cup and it was during this tournament that he got a contract extension from Surrey. After Graeme Smith's premature departure from the club, Wilson was appointed as the captain. He showed by class by smashed an unbeaten 160 against Leicestershire.

After the arrival of Niall O'Brien, Wilson was in danger of losing his position as the wicket-keeper. However, O'Brien's differences with the coach Phil Simmons, allowed the youngster to retain his role as the wicket-keeper. He was named as the specialist wicket-keeper in Ireland's 2015 World Cup squad.
