Nain Abidi

The first woman to get an ODI ton for Pakistan, Abidi is one of the batting main stays of her cricket team. Nain made her debut in 2006 against India and an unbeaten 23 in a losing kick-started one of the more promising careers in Pakistan's women cricket. Her ton against Ireland in 2012 coming in at number 3 scripted history and it was no looking back for the chirpy customer from Karachi. In her younger days, she was good in academics but egged on her by her mother, she chose cricket over anything else and made the game richer with her talent. In the 2017 World Cup in England, Nain is expected to be the backbone of the batting unit and her rich vein of experience will come to the aid of the young Pakistani outfit in alien conditions. Nain has travelled to England twice before and her understanding of the conditions will hold her in good stead ahead of the mega event.
