B0$ [On the energy and performance of the bowling group] I think the energy was really good, and especially Vaishnavi (who) went (on) to get five wickets on this track. I think it was a little bit on the slower side. She was getting a lot of turn, so she bowled really well. And happy that we could get them all out. [On taking a wicket in her first over and improving her bowling rhythm and control as the series progressed] Yes, today I felt my rhythm was much better than the previous two games. If I bowl more, I’ll be better. So happy that I could do well today. [On the plan with the new ball and whether it changed when she bowled with the old ball] Not really. My plan was simple, just stick to the stump lines and keep hitting the stumps as much as possible. So even with the old ball, I was trying to do that. [On the conditions] I think today it was on the slower side, so spinners were getting a lot of turn. I think first two games there was not much of turn. Today was turning, so I think it was a bit on the slower side. [On the bowling variations, including the bouncers used by Kranti in the first few overs] Yeah, I mean, we can get the batters (feel) settled at one particular length, so it’s important to keep mixing up the lengths. So that was the plan that we had. [On the first wicket and Yastika’s catch] Yeah, she took a really good catch. Sometimes on a good bowling you don’t get a wicket, but sometimes on a leg-side ball, and you get a wicket. It’s just part of the game.

B0$ Smriti Mandhana was careful not to be “too critical” of her bowling unit at the toss, but had set them a target of sorts, saying it would be “great” to bowl Zimbabwe out for under 150. India’s bowlers have made sure their captain’s wish has come true. Vaishnavi Sharma was the star performer, claiming a maiden five-wicket haul in international cricket, while Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare also finished with two wickets apiece. For Zimbabwe, Modester Mupachikwa, Josephine Nkomo and Chiedza Dhururu got starts but couldn't stay long enough to take their team closer to the 200-run mark.
